Frequently Asked Questions

  • A sleep consultant provides guidance and personalised strategies to help your little one develop healthy sleep habits. This can include support with bedtime routines, night waking, naps, sleep regressions, sleep associations and nightmares- all tailored to your little one’s age, temperament and your parenting style.

  • Frequent waking in babies can be common and can stem from a range of developmental, physiological and environmental reasons. It could also be due to hunger, sleep associations, sleep regressions, over tiredness, discomfort and under tiredness.

  • Crying is how a baby communicates with their care giver, therefore, I cannot promise that your little one will never cry during the programme. However, I offer a range of gentle, responsive techniques and work closely with you to choose a method that aligns with your parenting philosophy and your baby’s needs. I will ensure you understand what they are communicating for and how best to respond to this.

  • Sleep shaping (gentle foundations) can begin as early as 6-8 weeks but most formal sleep training methods are best suited for babies around 6 months old, once they are developmentally ready. I offer an antenatal package to provide you with the knowledge you need to set the foundations for good sleeping habits for the newborn stage.

  • Not at all, my sleep plans work for babies that are both breast and bottle fed. You can continue to improve sleep whilst continuing to feed your baby.

  • Many families start to see improvements within 3-7 days with significant changes within 1-2 weeks. Consistency and follow through are the key to long term success.

  • When done correctly and compassionately, sleep training is safe and supportive. I prioritise responsive techniques that respect your baby’s cues and help them to feel secure whilst learning new sleep habits.

  • Absolutely! I support families with naps, bedtime routines, early waking, sleep regressions and more. Daytime and nighttime sleep go hand in hand.
